• Steel measuring tape (for accurate figures) in millimetres (mm)
• Pen and paper to record your measurements

When taking your measurements, ensure tape is straight and tight. Don't add any extra margins as we will do that for you, so take exact measurements.

1. Measure width

Go to window frame and measure width from jamb to jamb with tape straight and tight (pushed firmly against jamb). Measure both at the top and bottom of the window, and record the smaller figure as we have to fit the blind inside the tightest part of the window.

 
Note anything that might obstruct the blinds such as window catches. The blinds cannot sit where they are but will need to sit in front of them.

 2. Measure height

Measure the vertical drop from the top jamb down to the window sill at the left and right sides, and note down the smaller figure.

1. Measure width

Go to window and measure the width from left (outer) side of left architrave across to right (outer) side of right architrave - with tape straight and tight (pulled firmly). Measure both at the top and bottom of the window, and record the larger figure as we have to cover the biggest part of the window.

 2. Measure height

Measure height from top of upper architrave down to bottom of lower architrave - with tape straight and tight (pulled firmly). Measure both at the left and right of the window, and record the larger figure as we have to cover the biggest part of the window.

3. Measure valance return depth

Measure the distance that you want your valance (fascia) to stand out from the architrave. This is the width of the valance return (sides of the valance). It should be around 65mm.
